Biochemistry Colloquium: Dr. Lori Passmore
March 10, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am
he Integrated Program in Biochemistry (IPiB) is hosting Dr. Lori Passmore from Cambridge University on Wednesday, March 10 at 9am as part of the Biochemistry Colloquium. Please note the seminar will take place at 9:00am, and you will need to join using your meeting link (five minutes early if possible). You will need to register in order to attend these seminars. Please contact Crystal M Peterson (cpeterson7@wisc.edu) if you would like to attend and need to register. All attendees must use their own unique link in order to access the seminar. Attendees will use the link included in their registration confirmation to join the seminar. The talk is titled “The End of the Message: Mechanistic Insights into mRNA 3’-end Processing.” Dr. Lori Passmore is the 2019-2020 IPiB Graduate Student Invited Speaker. She uses hybrid cryo-EM, X-ray crystallographic, biophysical, biochemical, and genetic techniques to study the molecular mechanisms of protein complexes that regulate gene expression. The ultimate goal is to gain insight into the how protein complexes are assembled by defining their structures to gain insight into their activities and regulation.
