Cardiovascular Research Center Seminar: Åsa Gustafsson

The SMPH Cardiovascular Research Center welcomes you to attend a seminar presented by Dr. Åsa Gustafsson, PhD (Professor of Pharmacology, UC-San Diego) on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in 8571 WIMR II at 4:00 pm. She will present “Novel Mechanisms of Mitochondrial Quality Control in the Heart.” Dr. Gustafsson is interested in understanding the molecular pathways that regulate the life and death of cardiac myocytes. Using genetic and molecular biology approaches, Dr. Gustafsson is elucidating the role that the BCL-2 proteins play in regulating mitochondrial function and autophagy in myocardial cells.
