CMB Faculty Mentoring Workshop

The CMB Program requires that all faculty trainers complete a two-hour mentor training workshop within one year of being accepted into the CMB Program and every 5 years after. We hope that participation in this workshop will improve the effectiveness of faculty mentoring in CMB, provide our graduate students with a better research experience, and reduce any potential tension between trainers and students. The mentor training team will tailor the workshop toward faculty who train graduate students in biological sciences research. Workshop evaluations from previous years have been extremely positive and participants of the workshop indicate that they would recommend that their colleagues attend this session in the future. We have had great discussions at these events in the past and will continue to offer this once a year in hopes that all CMB trainers will take advantage of the opportunity.
