CMB Professional Development Seminar: Kelly Tyrrell

Speaker: Kelly Tyrrell, Senior Science Writer, UW-Madison

Kelly is an award-winning science writer and interim director of research communications at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Kelly has had an incredible career in science writing. She has previously worked as a health and science reporter for The News Journal in Delaware, Philadelphia Inquirer, and The Chicago Tribune, where she was a AAAS Mass Media Fellow in 2011. She serves as the engagement editor of the science journalism non-profit The Open Notebook. Most recently, she won the National Association of Science Writers’ 2019 Excellence in Institutional Writing Award, for the series “Origins” , examining the origins of the universe, life on earth, and human kind.
