SCOARE Faculty Mentor Training Workshop
October 15, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
To provide additional opportunities to support your trainees, our campus is partnering with investigators at MD Anderson Cancer Center to bring you an NIH-funded faculty mentor training workshop “Scientific Communication Advances Research Excellence” (SCOARE). The project includes a companion research study of workshop participants and their research trainees. You are invited to attend the workshop as well as to participate in the associated research study assessing workshop outcomes. In this half-day workshop, you will learn best practices and strategies for helping trainees develop their scientific speaking and writing skills, which has been shown to build trainees’ commitment to research careers. The workshop will be facilitated by Drs. Carrie Cameron and Shine Chang of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The workshop is a half-day (lunch provided) and is limited to 20 attendees. To participate, you can either attend the workshop and participate in the research study, or attend the workshop only. Priority for spaces will be given to study participants; however, study participation is not required for workshop participation. The workshop will be held October 15, 2019, 10am-2pm in the Discovery Building, Orchard View Room. Please register here: https://is.gd/SCOARE2019
