RESEARCH DESCRIPTION:
Work in the Robertson lab focuses on the biophysics, physiology, molecular biology, and biochemistry ofprocesses controlling ion channel function and assembly. We use patch-clamp electrophysiology andstructural approaches to characterize novel ion channel behavior and map therapeutic targets for cardiacarrhythmia. We also use single-molecular fl uorescence combined with immunofl uorescence andbiochemical approaches to characterize the process by which specifi c mRNA molecules work in pairs tosynthesize functionally related proteins important in cardiac signaling.
