Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Impact Award

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee (DEIC) is a group of student and faculty representatives working to address systematic biases including but not limited to race, gender, sexuality, and disability status within the program. The committee leverages our influence as a large and distinguished program within the Graduate School to call for broader, university-wide changes. The DEIC is working to make recruitment and admissions more equitable, enhance support systems for current students, and hold the CMB community accountable.

In 2022, the DEIC committee launched the annual Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Impact Award (DEI Award). This award recognizes students who have made outstanding contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the CMB program, the University, or the greater scientific community.
