RESEARCH DESCRIPTION:
My research investigates how cells survive therapeutic stress by entering transient, drug-tolerant persister states. I study both bacterial and cancer systems to define how metabolic rewiring, DNA repair, and cell–environment interactions enable survival and drive disease recurrence. My lab integrates metabolomics, single-cell imaging, and quantitative modeling to identify key pathways that support persistence. We also develop translational strategies, including targeting energy metabolism and exploiting host–pathogen interactions, to eliminate these resilient cell populations.
