Credentials: The Wang lab studies bacterial DNA replication, replication-transcription conflict, and stress response. I am characterizing how the stress signaling nucleotide (p)ppGpp regulates bacterial genome integrity and evolution through direct interactions with DNA replication and repair enzymes. This will help us gain an understanding of how to develop effective strategies for combating bacterial infection, in addition to revealing fundamental principles of genome maintenance that are critical for preventing genetic diseases, including cancer, in humans.
