In addition to core courses, students must take elective courses to total 10 credits (the ethics course does not count towards the credits total). See the Course Requirements section of the handbook for more information. Syllabi for some courses can be found in the Student Resources Box folder (only accessible by CMB students). See the Course Search & Enroll application in MyUW for the most up-to-date information.
Interested in taking a graduate-level course not listed among the electives? Students must obtain approval before taking the course if they wish for it to count as an elective. Email the CMB Office with the course syllabus and a statement explaining how the course will benefit your research and learning. The Curriculum Committee will evaluate the submitted materials for approval.
Students are welcome to take classes that are not approved as electives, but the courses will not count towards the CMB requirements.
